Home Invasion

On December 5th at 12:02 pm, Barrington Hills officers responded to a home in the area of Brinker and Lake Cook Roads for a home invasion.  Upon arrival, officers met with the occupants of the home who reported they were robbed at gun point by an Asian male. He was reported wearing blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt with a gray scarf.

A thorough search of the area was completed by responding officers but the offender was not immediately located.  Later the same day, a suspect was taken into custody and members of the Department’s Investigations Division began working with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for the formal filing of criminal charges.

On December 8th, the Department formally charged the sole offender involved with one count of Home Invasion at that time.  He was identified as: Kuhn Kim, age 24, of Winnetka, Illinois. Kim appeared for a bond hearing in room #108 of the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, where his bond was set at one million dollars buy Judge Joseph J Urso.  Kim’s next court appearance was set for January 9th, 2009 in room #108.

Although the offender in this home invasion has been arrested and charged, the Department continues to investigate the incident.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Investigations Division at 847-551-3006.

The Department cannot stress enough how important it is to activate your alarm systems and lock your doors regardless if you are home or not.  Residents are also reminded to immediately notify the Department of any suspicious activities, persons, or vehicles.
