Master Officer Hammelmann Celebrates 25 Years With BHPD
Gary Hammelmann celebrated his 25th year with the police department this March. Officer Hammelmann began his career with the Department in March 1983 and in addition to general patrol, he has worked as a juvenile officer, range officer and defensive tactics instructor. He also served on a multi-jurisdictional task force for dealing with crowds, demonstrations and riots. Although Master Officer Hammelmann is qualified and experienced in many areas, his favorite and most successful part of the job is enforcement of laws governing second division vehicles (trucks).
Congratulations, Gary!
At the March Village Board Meeting, the Department presented Master Officer Hammelmann with a
Dedicated Service Award. Pictured from left: Kathy Hammelmann, Gary’s wife; Gary Hammelmann;
