On behalf of Mayor Robert Abboud, the Board of Trustees and Chief Michael Murphy of the Village of Barrington Hills, as promised, we would like to provide you with a follow-up on a very important case.
On July 27, 2009, two offenders that were charged in connection with the August 16, 2008, Home Invasion, which occurred in the area of Bateman Road and Bateman Circle, were sentenced to fifteen years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Frederick Neal, age 34, and Leville Starks, age 32, entered a GUILTY PLEA, through a negotiated plea agreement, to one count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony. A third offender charged in connection with the Home Invasion, Anthony Starks, age 36, has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, and will stand trial on Monday, August 3, 2009, at the Third District Cook County Court House in Rolling Meadows.
The three offenders are also facing similar charges in Kane County in connection with a Home Invasion, which occurred on August 22, 2008, in Elgin.
The Barrington Hills Police Department continues to encourage all residents to lock all doors and windows when leaving your residence and to utilize a home security system if available. When traveling or away from your home, we also encourage residents to utilize the Police Departments House Watch Program.
Thank you.
