Caputo Receives Lifesaving Award
Master Officer Dominic V. Caputo, a 23-year veteran of the police department, was presented a Lifesaving Award at the February 23rd Village Board Meeting. The award is inscribed as follows:
“On January 9, 2009 Officer Caputo was on patrol when he located a vehicle parked at the Barrington United Methodist Church on Algonquin Road. Upon investigation, Officer Caputo found a victim inside severely bleeding. He immediately summoned an ambulance, and kept the victim alert and conscious until paramedics arrived. It was determined the victim had attempted suicide, and would have succeeded if it were not for Officer Caputo’s quick thinking and intervention.
Officer Caputo showed great compassion by going above and beyond when he continued on to the hospital, made notification to the victim’s wife, and consoled and comforted her at the hospital during this critical time. Case #09-17”
Congratulations Dominic!
