Cellular Carrier Usage within VBH Survey 2006, Image Courtesy of Village Study

2009 Note: The original tabulation used a percentage of over all respondents  to the survey rather than just to the cellular questions. Also respondent's answers were multiplied by the number of cellular users in a household which is not necessarily indicative of the experience of each user. Notation from Village Administrator. Thanks to the resident who brought this to our attention.

Since the initial Cellular studies, advances continue to be made in wireless and broadband technology. T-Mobile was granted permission to add a tower within one area of the Village and Cricket Communications was granted permission to add a tower in another area to support their prepaid service. Those two towers were placed on top of or within existing structures. So new towers, new carriers, new protocols 3G/4G, evdo, and new handsets like the iPhone and new Blackberry phones, Google Phones and more continue to change the landscape. Further proposals are under way using a technology called DAS to expand the wireless and broadband footprint inside the village. Ed.
