Event Leadership: Patty Meroni
Village of Barrington Hills Tent at the
Annual Kalaway Polo Match
Presented by the Polo Club of Barrintgon Hills and
The Riding Club of Barrington Hills
September 8, 2007
The Annual Event for the Kalaway Landowners Polo Matches is held each fall to thank the Landowners who allow horses and riders on their land, and open their private trails throughout the year. In 2007 for the first time, the Village of Barrington Hills sponsored a tent and luncheon for residents who chose to participate. Patty Meroni organized the food for the luncheon and managed advanced ticket sales. The tent hosted hundreds of residents and boosted the overall attendance. The Village sponsored the tent and luncheon as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Village and to celebrate our equestrian heritage.
In addition to the special Village Tent, dozens of tesidents serve each year as hosts and leaders for the event and some residents play in the polo matches. Many other residents work behind the scenes all year to make this event a success. This type of community activity helps to maintain the unique character of the Village, making Barrington Hills a very special place to live and play.
