One Room School Houses
Barrington Hills was home to many one room school houses. The Barrington Area Library has references who provide a great insight into the past and the development of the school system we have today which is one of the finest in the state and in fact the United States in the greater Barrington Area. Please reference a United States Topographical Map from the early years which reflects the locations of some of the original One Room School Houses. Some of these building structures are used today by village residents as their homes. Come back to the site as we uncover more of the local history.
